How will our community be permanently effected if the South Parcel is mined and our water table drops?
- Drinking water supply could become contaminated
- Edmond Marsh, a 139 acre Class I wetland will be damaged
- Sequalitchew Creek will be permanently damaged
We say no!
Riparan wetland habitat (see ours in this photo) comprises less than 2% of the entire Western United States...yet it sustains 90% of all wildlife species for all or part of their life cycles. It is worth saving in DuPont!

Few things are as important to the health of humans and the environment as fresh, pure water. America's lakes, rivers, streams, and coastal waters are also important recreational resources, supporting swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing-or simply lolling the surf on a warm day.
And water has a powerful aesthetic pull for most people, making beaches, rocky coasts, and riverbanks favorite places for a long walk or a picnic, not to mention popular subjects for artistic inspiration.
We deserve to have fresh, clean drinking water. We don't have to sacrifice our environment.
