“If we don’t dewater, then we don’t mine in the expansion area.”

Listen to this excerpt (at the end) to hear Pete Stoltz with CalPortland (then Glacier NW) explain that if they cannot dewater the Vashon Aquifer in the current mine footprint and south expansion parcel, then they cannot mine in the south expansion parcel.

Why should dewatering be allowed? It will cause significant, adverse, permanent damage (impacts) to our entire watershed including Sequalitchew Creek, Edmond Marsh a Class I Wetland.
